Abstract

This research aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of insurance and claims portfolio analysis in improving the profitability of the Iraqi General Insurance Company. The insurance industry is a vital financial sector that relies heavily on efficient portfolio management as a key tool for measuring efficiency, controlling risks, and achieving a balance between premiums and the volume of claims paid. The descriptive-analytical approach was adopted, utilizing the financial data and reports of the company under study for the period 2020-2024. The research concluded with several key findings, most notably the company's continuous efforts to develop its activities through the growth and maintenance of insurance portfolios and the dissemination of insurance awareness among the public, which leads to increased marketed insurance policies and revenues.
